Marian Roth

I aim, with my paintings, to achieve the same kinds of feelings I invoked with my pinhole imagery - among them a sense of being in place.  Provincetown is my home in both the physical and spiritual sense, and I want to be able to make art that expresses the feelings of connection, contemplation and wonder that fill me here.  I am not really interested in making “landscapes” or “seascapes” per se, but rather in imagery that deals with a more complex and idiosyncratic relationship between the self and the world.
