SAM AWARD
Kobalt Gallery is pleased to present a fall 2008 exhibition of artwork by Cape Cod high school students in conjunction with the second annual SAM Award.
The Award
The SAM (Student Artistic Merit) Award will be given to a
participating student from a Cape Cod high school whose intention is to further
their education in the visual arts.
The award is offered in the memory of Samuel Montana D’Olimpio who lived on the Cape his entire life and attended Barnstable High School. Sammy’s appreciation for the arts is honored through this event and award.
The Exhibition
This event provides an opportunity for serious young artists to
show their work in a prominent contemporary gallery.
Student work will be featured at Kobalt Gallery in Provincetown
from October 22nd thru November 4th, with an opening reception on
Saturday, October 25th from 3-5pm.
The Recipient
This year’s recipient of the SAM Award will be selected by a panel
of locally and nationally recognized Kobalt artists, and will be
announced at the reception on October 25th.
Funding
The SAM Award is funded through financial donations from individuals and the community, and support from the Cape Cod Foundation.
